Young Life Academy offers several different programs as an added benefit to you. These programs are an additional cost but are totally
optional. Currently, we offer Ballet, Tumble Time, Happy Feet, Soccer, Chess Club and Karate.

KARATE
Young Life Academy offers Karate for children ages 4-12 at The Dojo Karate Center in Roswell. This is an excellent opportunity for your child to be introduced to an art that will develop leadership skills, increase confidence and build self esteem. Karate can also help instill discipline, respect, integrity and perseverance in your child. To register for classes, your child must be age-appropriate. We provide brochures, informative packets and registration forms that you may take for review if interested. You are responsible for signing your child up, and your monthly Karate payments can be included in your tuition checks. For more information, please inquire at the front desk.

TUMBLE TIME
Our gymnastics program is offered through Tumble Time, which is a specialized fitness program designed to build confidence and coordination in your child as well as improve their overall physical development. Tumble Time is a full-sized school bus that has been transformed into a fun, safe gymnasium. This “gym on wheels” is brought to Young Life Academy for weekly fitness classes. WE DO NOT TRANSPORT THE CHILDREN. Classes are taught once a week for 30 minutes. Each class offers a different theme and a different learning experience. Instructors are trained in safety to help your children sharpen their physical experience aboard the Tumble Time Bus. You may sign your child up at the front desk and your monthly gymnastic payments can be included in your tuition check. Classes are offered for children 18 months through 5 years.

HAPPY FEET
Soccer is perhaps the only recognized high school varsity sport that a 2-6 year old can develop skills for and play in a similar fashion to older players while truly enjoying and benefitting from the experience at such an early age. Happy Feet teaches the key concepts of soccer using many creative techniques. In a “Happy Feet” class, soccer skills are taught using props, games, and your child’s imagination. Classes run month to month and are located on Young Life Academy’s athletic field adjacent to the building.

BALLET, TAP and JAZZ
Young Life Academy is excited to offer Ballet/Tap and Ballet/Jazz classes through the Roswell Recreation Department located less
than one mile from the school. Classes will consist of basic ballet instruction and positions, a variety of flexibility exercises, and different routines for the recitals held every spring. Ballet is offered for ages 3 years and up where as Ballet/Tap classes begin at 4 years of age. The Ballet/Jazz classes are offered for after school elementary ages starting at 6 years of age and up. The Ballet/ Jazz program is a free and less restrictive form of dance. Jazz is considered an American art form that involves body conditioning using ballet and
modern dance techniques. Registration for classes are held every fall and winter sessions. Please contact the front office at Young Life
Academy for more details.

CHESS
Chess is a great tool for teaching strategic thinking, planning, and sportsmanship while having fun! Students will learn piece movement,
openings, strategies, and chess etiquette. Students will also learn and compete in tournaments where they will play Regular Chess, Blitz, Blindfold, and Bughouse Chess. Despite the competitive nature we focus on the fun, and each participant is eligible for an award based on achievement.

Coach “Adam Whitney” has been teaching Chess for the past several years at many of the local elementary schools. He loves coaching
kids who don’t know how to play and also kids who have been playing for years.
